With a Rome Boat cruise, you get to see the historic city center from the Tiber, away from traffic and crowds. The hop-on/hop-off ticket is valid for 24 hours from first use and covers 4 stops along the central stretch of the river. If you don't have time for a full day, you can instead choose the roughly one-hour round trip with no stops. The season runs from April 1 to November 2, 2026.
Rome Boat runs its hop-on/hop-off route along the central stretch of the Tiber, between the Prati district and Tiber Island. You can board at one of two fixed points: Tiber Island (Lungotevere degli Anguillara) or Ponte Sant'Angelo (Lungotevere Tor di Nona), right by Castel Sant'Angelo. From there, the boat continues on to the Ponte Sisto and Piazza del Popolo stops, where you can also get off.
With the 24-hour ticket, you can get on and off as often as you like. Onboard, a recorded audio commentary plays in 7 languages, and staff are on hand to help with questions. Access to Tiber Island is via the stairs at Ponte Cestio or Ponte Garibaldi; access at Ponte Sant'Angelo is via the stairs opposite Castel Sant'Angelo.
If you're short on time, or just want a relaxed ride with no stops, you can book the one-hour round trip instead. This runs nonstop between the Prati district and Tiber Island and back, passing nine bridges: Regina Margherita, Cavour, Umberto I, Sant'Angelo, Vittorio Emanuele II, Principe Amedeo, Mazzini, Sisto, and Garibaldi.

Tips for Your Boat Tour
Pick the Right Ticket for Your Plans
If you want to get off at several stops and take your time, the 24-hour ticket is worth it. If a relaxed ride with no stops is enough for you, the one-hour round trip is the cheaper choice.
Choose Your Boarding Point by Your Day Plan
Starting in Trastevere? Tiber Island is the closer boarding point. Coming from the Vatican or the city center? Ponte Sant'Angelo is more convenient.
Mind the Season
The tour only runs from April 1 to November 2, 2026. Outside this window, no rides are available.
Use Your First Ride to Get Oriented
Just stay seated on your first ride and let the boat carry you all the way to the next stop before you get off at the ones that interest you.
